I liked how well-developed the background characters were, though. I was very disappointed because I’ve really loved the couple of Karen Robards books I’ve read previously, but this was a dud. I agree with Eden. Just a moment while jaren sign you in to your Goodreads account.

The leading man and woman were interesting, but some of the peripheral characters were played up in one portion of the story, only to be virtually ignored for the remainder of the book.
When Nicky Sullivan starts looking for a story for her failing investigative news program, she thinks about her childhood home on Pawleys Island, South Carolina, remembering the unsolved deaths of three teenagers that occurred there 15 years ago, and turns to the local psychic, her mother Leonora James, for help.
I love books with a psychic robardw lines. Loved the psychic mother.

Showing of 76 reviews. Interesting characters some might say a few weird onesa good story line,a fair amount of wit, a great deal of suspense, just enough twists and turns and a little romance makes for good reading, and Karen Robards provides all of this in Superstition.
I liked the main characters and their families, and the psychic element to the story, I enjoyed guessing whodunnit, I was half right! There are no discussion topics on this book yet. And since Liv was constantly described as hugely pregnant, why the hell couldn’t Joe tell the difference between her and her sister who was always described as being so thin?? Not Robards’ usual quality. I will admit, the ending was a little too clean for my liking, and Robards’ constant use of the word ‘hot’ kind of bugged me as did the spelling of Nicky’s name.

When an active child feels weak and their blood sugar is low they need to be given sugar for instant bloodstream results and then sound food–such as a roast beef sandwich–to bring their blood sugar back to normal and avoid insulin shock.
It was a little too cheesy, and it didn’t clear up what happens with Vince and the two dirty cops. Nicky, with Leonora in tow and John following, charged up it like the little engine that could. Robards is an accomplished author and to make such a mistake–as in giving an insulin diabetic child a shot because they have been playing basketball and their blood sugar has dropped–is unforgivable. The book was good … yes and no.
